Let Your Eyes Shine With a Brow Lift

Do you look older but can’t quite put your finger on what’s changed? Try looking closer at your upper eyes, and you may find the answer. Chances are drooping eyebrows are to blame.

Youthful eyebrows are high and perfectly frame your beautiful eyes. Over the years, your brows gradually give in to gravity, creating subtle changes in your appearance.

The team at Plastic Surgery Specialists of Boca Raton has the ideal solution: a brow lift. A brow lift brightens your entire face by rejuvenating the appearance of your eyes. It also diminishes the wrinkles between your eyes and on your forehead.

Improvements made with a brow lift

Raising heavy, sagging eyebrows immediately lifts excess skin up and away from your eyes so they can truly shine. That change alone makes a dramatic difference, taking years off of your appearance.

A brow lift is also known as a forehead lift because the procedure targets the upper one-third of your face. That means you lose the wrinkles that make you look tired or angry, such as the frown lines between your eyebrows and bunny lines on the bridge of your nose. And few things make you look younger than softening forehead wrinkles.

Get a brow lift while skipping the hospital

One of the first questions you may have about having plastic surgery is how long you’ll be in the hospital.

You’ll be thrilled to know that brow lifts are an outpatient procedure so you can go home the same day. Additionally, your brow lift is done in the comfort of our own fully accredited surgery center.

If you want to recuperate in a quiet, luxurious environment with nursing services, you can choose to stay in our overnight recovery suite. We also offer the option of at-home care the next day.

About the brow lift procedure

At Plastic Surgery Specialists of Boca Raton, we offer three types of brow lift procedures. During your initial consultation, we explain your options and help you decide which one can do the best job of creating the results you want to achieve.

Traditional brow lift

For this procedure, you have a local anesthetic and one-pill sedation. This combination allows you to relax and have the work done in comfort without the potential side effects of general anesthesia.

During a traditional brow lift, we make an incision behind your ears and across your forehead, being careful to place the cuts in areas where your hair hides any scarring.

We remove excess skin and fat or reposition it to create symmetry and a more youthful appearance. Then we lift and tighten the underlying muscles, as well as the remaining skin, securing the tissues in place with stitches.

Minimally invasive endoscopic brow lift

An endoscope is a narrow instrument that allows us to do your brow lift with just a few small incisions. Though we perform all of the same steps as a traditional brow lift, small incisions cause less trauma, minimize scarring, and reduce your post-op pain.

iGuide System

The iGuide System is even less invasive than an endoscopic procedure. This system allows us to do your brow lift with a series of needle punctures.

Recovery from a brow lift

Though you shouldn’t have much pain, it’s normal to experience swelling, bruising, and possibly temporary numbness after a brow lift. Everyone heals at a different pace, depending on factors like your general health and age, but swelling and bruising should disappear within a week or two.

Your time frame for getting back to your usual activities depends on the type of brow lift procedure you have and whether you’ve combined your brow lift with a facelift, neck lift, or eyelid surgery. However, most people go back to work in about two weeks and can do non-strenuous activities after one week.

If you’re ready to consider a brow lift, or if you would like a consultation to evaluate your skin and learn if another option will work for you, call Plastic Surgery Specialists of Boca Raton or request an appointment online.
