Another common question I hear is, “why do so many celebrities, who have enough money to have the best, have horrible cosmetic results?”. Well… there could be a multitude of factors driving that train…
Possible factors could include: Patient selected a non-boarded plastic surgeon for their care, possibly resulting in low-quality work. Bad judgment by the doctor- Sometimes you need to know when to say “NO”! Perhaps these doctors are seduced by the star-power and fee potential of these celebrities?
Bottom line… It is critical for a surgeon to be Board Certified, have excellent clinical judgment, explain the risks and benefits of each procedure and treatment and ensure that the patient has realistic expectations. It is wise for patients to do their research prior to surgery, including checking out the surgeons before and after photos, malpractice records, license verification, facility status- including past violations, etc. Check out our Patient Education Center with links to find this information. http://pssbocaraton.com/learning/patient-education-center/
Many patients don’t realize that as much as they are interviewing me during a consultation, I am interviewing them! I KNOW when to say NO and I am never persuaded by my bottom line.
